Prime Minister Scott Morrison says the Federal Budget will contain measures to bring down the cost of living.
The government is expected to reduce its tax on petrol to try to reduce record high prices.
"What we recognise is the great pressure that Australian families and small businesses are under right around the country and we've designed a suite of measures to address those cost of living issues."
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has tested positive for COVID-19 and says he will isolate for the next seven days.
In a statement, Mr Andrews says he developed mild symptoms including a sore throat and mild temperature, before undertaking a rapid antigen test.
Mr Andrews says whilst his wife and kids tested negative, they will also isolate for the next seven days.
Deputy Premier James Merlino will be acting Premier until Monday the 4th of April.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he's willing to accept Russian security guarantees, including a nuclear-free status for Ukraine.
He says he needs to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin if an agreement is to be reached.
"We must come to an agreement with the president of the Russian Federation, and in order to reach an agreement, he needs to get out of there on his own two feet and come meet with me."
The Chief Executive and Managing Director of Sydney's Star Casino has resigned.
The board says Matt Bekier made the decision over issues raised in the ongoing inquiry into the casino.
Mr Bekier will step down from the board immediately but his final departure date is yet to be determined.
A six-year-old boy who went missing on Sunday afternoon in the southern suburbs of Perth has died in hospital.
Police say the boy was not wearing any clothes when he disappeared around 4.00pm on Sunday.
He was found an hour later in the backyard of a nearby property, where authorities say he was in need of "urgent medical assistance," but later died in hospital.
The cause of death has not yet been revealed.
A memorial has been held at the crash site of the China Eastern Airlines plane in southern China.
The crash killed all 132 people on board the 737-800.
It's hoped the discovery of the cockpit voice and flight data recorders will bring investigators one step closer to determining what caused the crash.
Chief Executive of Airline Ratings Geoffrey Thomas told SBS News the collection of the plane's wreckage will be the other key part of uncovering answers.
"Some debris was found some ten kilometres away from the main crash site. Now what that tells us is that that debris is critical because it will tell us that this debris came away from the airplane early on and that could've caused the crash."
New South Wales paramedics will take part in industrial action from Tuesday morning to pressure the state government for better conditions and resources.
The union wants 1500 extra paramedics employed and higher wages.
Australian Greig Fraser has won the Academy Award for best cinematography for his work on the film Dune.
Mr Fraser's award continues Dune's successful start at the Oscars, including the Academy Award for Best Music, produced by Hans Zimmer.
