Spain has defeated Argentina in the FIFA World Cup f inal with a single goal scored during extra time.
Ferran Torres netted the decider in the 106th minute to close the game 1-nil.
It's the first time the World Cup final has featured two Spanish speaking teams since the tournament started in 1930.
This is Spain’s 38th consecutive match victory.

Iran's state media says the country has launched a new wave of missiles across the Gulf region.
Meanwhile, the US military says it has launched a ninth consecutive night of strikes against Iran.
Three US service members have died in recent days, bringing the total to 17 throughout the war.
Iranian media has also reported attacks on a nuclear plant that is under construction.
Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi called the attack a 'dangerous assault' on Iranian infrastructure.
He warned Iran would respond with 'appropriate measures' to defend its interests and security.

Radical social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested in the United States.
It comes after British authorities announced more charges against the pair.
British authorities are trying to have them extradited to the UK.
Andrew Tate has been charged with another seven counts of rape, as well charges related to sex trafficking and child pornography.
He was initially arrested in Romania in 2022 for alleged involvement in organised crime involving the sexual exploitation of women.
The brothers deny wrondoing, and the earlier case was dismissed due to legal and procedural irregularities.
Dr Stephanie Wescott is a lecturer in gender studies at Monash University.
She says the latest development may not change Tate's popularity among his fans.
"So we saw when Tate was last arrested, and when he was held in Romania and that really had no impact on his online popularity. And because he has played into this sort of post-truth, anti-elite, anti-institution ideology and rhetoric, he can really persuasively engage in an argument that this is unfair accusation or that it will be an unfair trial."

The Royal Australian Air Force is hosting military drills in the Northern Territory for the next three weeks.
Exercise Pitch Black includes 100 aircraft and personnel from 21 allied and partner nations.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese spoke to troops at an airbase in Darwin.
"It's been going for 40 years, but it is bigger and better than it has ever been. That is because relationships are more important than they have ever been. So thank you for your service and I hope that you not only have a successful and fruitful time here, but an enjoyable one as well."

The Greens are calling for changes to make it a legal requirement for Telstra, Optus and Vodafone to offer a reliable service to customers.
On Friday, Telstra officials told an inquiry the recent national outage was caused by equipment that needed updates.
The inquiry also heard Telstra did not act on repeated warnings to fix the problem.
Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young says providers need to be held accountable for any future outages.
"There is a piece of legislation before the Senate, and when parliament resumes, I will be moving to amend that piece of legislation to put in place rules and regulations that make Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone legally required to offer a reliable service to their customers."
