About the Jarjums Logo: Dion Beasley's Cheeky Dog.
Dion Beasley is undoubtedly one of the best known personalities in Tennant Creek.
He is regularly seen driving his flash, motorised scooter around town and is often on his way to the Town swimming pool where he spends many enjoyable hours.
Dion spent most of his earlier years living in communities around Tennant Creek but has lived in town for the past eight years. Why is he well known? His undoubted sense of humour and fun and his enchanting artistic talent has shown every person he meets what spirit and persistence is all about. Although profoundly deaf and suffering from muscular dystrophy, Dion has a great zest for life and is always on the lookout for new and exciting experiences. His fascination with the dogs living in many communities has fired his imagination to draw these dogs and capture their many antics. He has an incredible memory and often draws the communities in which he spent his younger days. His attention to detail is remarkable and his wide range of dogs has been the impetus for the creation of Cheeky Dogs which is developing into a major success story, a story which is gathering admirers on an ever increasing scale. His sketches on T-shirts, bags, tea towels, aprons etc have become the preferred gift (more often to themselves) of people throughout Australia.
We are now taking his talents to the world. His language of art and mischief is universal and people from all parts of the world have visited our gallery and walked away with the Cheeky Dog of their choice.
NITV love Dion's Cheeky Dog so much, we worked in partnership with Dion and designer Rachel Stone to make the branding for our Jarjums or children's programming.
