After winning 107-93, Australia secured their first Olympic Medal in Basketball in the Bronze medal match against Slovenia. 

Leading the charge was none other than Patty Mills, who set an Olympic Record for most points in a medal match with 42 points. 

This makes history for the Boomers as it's the first Olympic medal they have received after 15 Games appearances.

The stellar performance by the Muralag and Nyunga man is the 10th-highest of all time at the Olympics, and the second-most points ever scored by an Australian player.

Along with his high scoring output, Mills also put up 9 assists and 3 rebounds with 1 steal.

Joe Ingles followed behind Mills with 16 points, Jock Landale on 14 points and also Dante Exum finished with 12 points, Nicholas Kay and Matisse Thybulle showed up on the defensive end with a combined 7 steals between them out of the teams 8.

Patty Mills also made the FIBA Men's All-Star five with Kevin Durant (USA), Ricky Rubio (SPAIN), Luka Doncic (SLOVENIA) and Rudy Gobert (FRANCE).
