The Canadian multisensory, electronic music group fuelled with First Nations sounds, which raises awareness about social justice through its music, says it wants young First Nations people to know they belong.

Band member Bear said in a documentary premiere about the group's free tour through reservations (Canada's Indigenous land reserves) that he wanted the band to empower Aboriginal youths.
Young Indigenous Canadians encounter more disadvantage than their non-Indigenous counterparts in areas such as education, health and the justice system, much like their sisters and brothers in Australia.

"It's super important especially now to go to Indigenous youth now and show that we're real," Bear said.
We want to create something that Indigenous youth can connect with, that they can know as their own
"We want to create something that Indigenous youth can connect with, that they can know as their own, but that everybody loves."

Youths on the reservations say they love the band's performances.

"It was the best, most amazing show ever," a concert-goer said. "So much energy and I just want to thank you guys for bringing everyone together."

A Tribe Called Red is currently in Australia touring the east coast. It is the first time the trio have performed in the country.
