An Indigenous campaigner has been caught up in a heated debate about parenting and violence in Aboriginal communities on social media in the wake of the Dylan Voller case.
During an argument on Facebook on December 23 with Kirra Ashleigh Skye, Alice Springs Councillor Jacinta Price said in a message: "Next time you see me pull me up and we'll have it lit (sic) woman to woman".
Ms Skye, who is a relative of the Voller family, posted a screen shot of the direct message she said Ms Price had sent her after she complained about other comments Ms Price had posted about the Voller family.
In a Facebook post containing the screen shot Ms Skye said: "Now she wants to 'have it lit woman to woman' really old girl slow down! All I'm saying to you is stop rubbishing my family and now you want to have it lit".
She went to say she thought the word "lit" was a typo and should have read as "have it out". Ms Skye’s post was liked on Facebook by Joanne Voller, Dylan’s mother.
Ms Price made a number of offers to Ms Skye to meet and discuss their differing points of view. Ms Price did not respond to requests for comment from NITV News.

Ms Price was part of a three woman Indigenous panel last month at the National Press Club who demanded a national task force to combat the epidemic of family violence in Aboriginal communities.
University of Melbourne Professor Marcia Langton, Josephine Cashman from the Prime Minister's Indigenous Advisory Council alongside Ms Price made their case at the National Press Club in Canberra.
