World Number One, Ash Barty, has advanced through to the Australian Open quarter-finals after thumping American Shelby Rogers in straight sets.
Ngaragu woman, Barty, secured her spot with a 6-3 6-4 win in 71 minutes on Monday night, further proving her efficiency.
It was the latest in a string of swift results, with her opening round taking just 44 minutes to complete a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Danka Kovinic.
It's the third straight year Barty has made it into the quarter-finals.
As the only Australian left in the the competition, it's hoped her run will lead to the crowning of a local champion for the first time since Chris O'Neill in 1978.
The home crowd has certainly got behind the 24-year-old from Ipswich.
Following the match, Ash Barty spoke about the significance of playing in the Melbourne competition.
"If you had told me a few months ago when I was doing pre-season that this is the start of the year I'd have, I would take it with a massive smile on my face," she said in the post-match interview.
"We have fun. I have grown up on these (Australian) blue tennis courts, having played on them for many years, but I just love being at home.
"I love being in Australia and being able to share it with all of my friends and family who are here as well," Ash Barty said.
The 2019 French Open champion will meet Czech world Number 27 Karolina Muchova on Wednesday for a spot in the semi-finals.
It comes after Barty took out the Yarra Valley Classic to close out her preparations for the Australian Open.
