The 'Tubba-Gah Culture Group' from Dubbo region in north-west NSW is readying to perform at the international Spirit of the Planet Festival in Milan, northern Italy, on June 11.

The festival, held between May 27 and June 12, celebrates Indigenous people through performance in an effort to generate awareness about the importance of maintaining culture.

The Tubba-Gah Culture Group says in a statement on the festival's website that its performance aims to highlight the value of self-determination and land rights and cultural knowledge.

The festival's schedule features musicians and dancers from cultures around the globe including South and North America, Canada, Ireland and Australia.

One featured performance included about one hundred people from different Indigenous groups performing a flash mob gathered in central Milan to grow awareness about wisdom, knowledge and Indigenous heritage of humanity.
