The member for Cook, who was forced out of the Labor party and now sits as an independent, fell ill on Friday night and was sent to the Cairns hospital, according to The Courier-Mail.
Tests have revealed a small blockage in his heart, but doctors did not diagnose a heart attack, the ABC reports.
Mr Gordon is reportedly in a stable condition and has been in contact with colleagues.
