National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day gives all of Australians a day to celebrate the strengths of our kids and the important role they play in this country – now, and in our future.
The 2016 theme for this Children's day is My Country, Our Country - We All Belong.
This theme recognises that while Australia is home to many, Australia's first people are the Traditional Owners of the land, and our children are the latest in that line of Traditional Owners.
Numerous schools around Australia are teaching children to be proud of their rich heritage and ensuring next generation Indigenous Australia leads the nation with pride and understanding of Aboriginality.

Olympian, NBA basketballer and proud Ynunga man, Patty Mills is standing as an official National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day ambassador, helping share stories and knowledge with new audiences, about understanding of our cultures and history.
