Premier Mike Baird said on Tuesday his government will push forward with an application for a retrial of the man previously accused and acquitted over two of the murders of the children from the New South Wales community of Bowraville 26 years ago.

Three Aboriginal children disappeared over a five month period, and still the families are calling for justice.

Last week as hundreds rallied outside, the NSW Parliament voted down a reform bill that could have paved the way for the suspected Bowraville killer to once again face court.
