Australian music would be just a small footnote in global music history without 'true musicians' like Ross Wilson, Joe Camillari and Troy Casser-Daley.

These icons have played a strong part in ensuring that Australia's real stories and culture remains captured in lyrics and music forever.

The Marngrook Footy Show is passionate about supporting the Australian music industry and each week we provide an opportunity for musicians to perform on the show.

This year, we had many stand out acts on the Marngrook Footy Show. That's why the task of narrowing down only a few acts from a whole season of great performances by Australian musicians was hard: I think all the the acts on the show were amazing!

But here's my top 5 music acts for 2015 on the Marngrook Footy Show:

Marngrook Footy Show celebrates AFL Grand Final with a special event featuring sporting legends and music, live from Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on Friday October 2, 7.30pm on NITV (Channel 34 free-to-air & Channel 144 Foxtel).

1. CHOCOLATE STAR FISH

Chocolate Starfish, an Australian rock music group formed in 1992, are considered by many one of Australias top music acts.

The band is set to grace the screen once again when it performs live on the Marngrook Footy Show's AFL Final show, live from Melbourne's Forum Theatre on Friday 2 October at 7.30pm on NITV.

2. TROY CASSAR-DALEY

Troy Cassar-Daley is a country music star who bursted on the Australian music industry in the 90's.

His music is a symbol of his love of the country and life.

Troy performed live on the Marngrook Footy Show in episode five this year.

3. TULLY ON TULLY

Although Tully on Tully are new to the industry, they are fast developing a name as one of the best little quirky acts in the Australian music industry today.

Tully on Tully performed live on the Marngrook Footy Show in 2015 on episode 20.

4. ROSS WILSON

As the front man for both Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock, Ross Wilson is an Australia rock icon and a music great.

It goes without saying that we were happy to have him play live on the show this year in episode 18.

5. JOE CAMILLERI

As the front man for Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons and The Black Sorrows, Joe Camilleri is another rock icon that has shaped the Australia industry.

Watch Joe perform live on the Marngrook Footy Show in this season's episode 25.
