On her passing, NITV would like to pay tribute to acclaimed actress Ningali Lawford-Wolf, in recognition of her services to NITV and the wider Australian film, television, theatre and arts industry.

NITV Channel Manager, Tanya Orman said: “NITV is deeply saddened by the passing of Wangkatjunka woman Ningali Lawford-Wolf, an incredibly talented and thoughtful performer who brought joy to audiences across the globe.

"At a time when we were fighting to be heard, Ningali was a trailblazer behind some of the most prominent and important Indigenous stories told on screen. Her legacy will live on within Australian storytelling, today and into the future.

"Ningali did much for NITV over the years. In particular, her portrayal of Nana was the anchor that underpinned our beautiful Little J and Big Cuz series. She imbued Nana with tenderness, wisdom and joy, bringing a loving and resilient Nana to life for children right across Australia.

All of us at NITV will miss her greatly and we send condolences to her entire and extended family.”
