Australia's only beach polo event took place in the Kimberley region last weekend.

Event highlights included a battle between professionals from Colombia and local Aboriginal stockmen, and a fashion parade by local Kimberley girls.

Guest Judge and supermodel Samantha Harris was in attendance to guide the girls through their paces.

"We sat down and had a chat. They told me about their family...and how they really enjoyed it and then I told them about my career and what are my highlights," Harris said.

As one of Australia's most successful models, the girls were eager to hear how Harris took the fashion industry by storm.

"One of my main advice that I would tell the girls is whatever you want to do, if you want to be a model – great...whatever you want to be in life just work as hard as you can and you will get there. Life has its ups and downs and that’s just life in general, but if you persist you’ll get to where you want to go," she said.

Harris said she could already see a transformation in the young women.

"These girls are saying they don’t know if they should do this, you know ‘I’m really nervous, I’m really shy’ and you see them on the catwalk and they’re completely different girls. You can see how much fun they’re having, you can see the light in their eyes, and it’s really amazing. It’s really nice to watch," she said.
