The ILC has drafted a bill which would effectively protect the Commonwealth-controlled "Land Account", securing government funding for Indigenous people who don’t have access to Native Title.

The corporation wants the Indigenous Affairs Minister Nigel Scullion to introduce the bill to Parliament, just one month after the Northern Territory Senator received the report on the proposed merger of the corporation and Indigenous Business Australia.

Mr Scullion proposed reviewing a merger between the ILC and Indigenous Business Australia after the board of the Ayers Rock Resort was sacked and the value of the resort fell, costing the corporation millions of dollars.

Although Mr Scullion has had the report back for nearly a month, and he says he's not ready to make it public.

"I've said that we really need to have a look at this and make sure we’re doing the very best we can. It’s a very important process and that’s why it deserves the time I’m going to take," he said.
