Following their premiere at New Zealand’s WOMAD Festival this week, the Boomerang Project will travel to Scotland to perform during the Commonwealth Games in July.
“It's amazing. It's very special that they get to travel to New Zealand and Scotland and collaborate with all the artists,” said choreographer and dancer Peta Strachan.
They'll be accompanied by Scottish and Maori performers who will celebrate the differences and similarities in the stories of their First Peoples.
“The New Zealand contingent, they're just amazing and they've got this song about this eagle that soars and they've got a beautiful dancer, and the Scottish are amazing and it just brings such a difference to the stage when everyone's there telling their own stories,” said singer Casey Donovan.
The tri-nations project will perform as part of Sydney's Homeground Festival at the Sydney Opera House on April 5.
