The trip to the Big Apple concluded six months of intense training for the group of runners who competed alongside former Olympian marathon runner, Robert de Castella.

Jack Wilson from Townsville was the first to cross the line in a time of 3 hours and 14 minutes.

Former AFL footballer, Nathan Djerrkura from East Arnhem, wasn’t far behind with his time of 3 hours and 24 minutes.

Georgia Gleeson was the first of the female members to complete the race in 4 hours and 9 minutes.

The last of the Indigenous Project Marathon runners to cross the finish line was Evelyna Dhamarrandji from Elcho Island in just under five hours.
