Indigenous surf classic kicks off on Central Coast

The 29th annual Wadinyali Indigenous Surf Classic has been held on the Central Coast of New South Wales.

Eight-time Wadinyali champion and former ASP World Qualifying Series surfer, Russell Moloney was on Newcastle's Merewether Beach to connect with country and compete against peers.

"Oh I love this event, it’s such a great surf meet. Everyone from the local community turns up," said Mr Moloney.

The New South Wales event is growing in popularity and becoming an internationally renowned surf festival.
