A man with a swastika painted on his forehead has been charged over the attack of an Indigenous woman in Perth.

WA Police said the man approached the 40-year-old woman while she was with her teenage daughter on Saturday evening, yelling racial abuse before trying to burn her by spraying a can of deodorant and lighting it.

The man allegedly fled on foot and the woman was treated for minor injuries.

He will appear in the Perth Magistrates court on Thursday,  charged with conduct intended to racially harass and committing an unlawful act with intent to harm.
