As International Day for Indigenous Peoples is marked, NITV is launching a African News series.

Every Sunday at 5:45pm - African News - will cast an eye across the communities of this culture rich continent.  It will look at the issues facing these societies as they try to shake off the legacy of a colonial past and strive to build a brighter future for an emerging generation.

African News will provide a 15 minute lead in for Maori Television's premier current affairs show - Te Ao with Moana. This is hosted by singer and Maori rights activist Moana Maniapoto.

Te Ao with Moana examines national and international stories through a Māori lens. Māori Television is New Zealand’s indigenous broadcaster, providing a wide range of local and international programs for audiences across the country and online.
