NITV is playing your Christmas favourites this December

NITV will broadcast a heartwarming Christmas movie every Friday in the lead up to the joyful holiday.

Starting tonight, all the way until Christmas, NITV is broadcasting some holiday favourites for you to celebrate and be entertained this the festive season.

An Outback Christmas

A colourful 2D animation that follows the adventures of Bluey, an Australian Blue Heeler, as he travels on a journey across the Outback on Christmas Day. 

Bluey is on a mission to get home to his parent's house to celebrate Christmas along the way he meets a digeridoo-playing emu, a wisecracking echidna and a kangaroo who just wants air-conditioning and lettuce leaves. He also discovers an international secret about the jolly man in the red suit. 

An Outback Christmas airs Friday 7 December, 7.30pm & Friday 21 December, 8.30pm (Rpt) on NITV (Ch. 34).

When a young girl, Sam, stumbles upon a mystical store selling unlikely gifts on Christmas Eve, magical happenings begin to take place.

With a cast including five-time Golden Globe winner, Edward Asner, this imaginative short film is your classic Christmas adventure.  

Christmas Dreams airs Friday 7 December, 8pm on NITV (Ch. 34).

In 1950s rural Australia, a family struggles to keep its farm from closing. Their only hope is that their prize horse, Prince, will win money in a New Year's race. But when Prince is stolen the children embark on a dangerous and exciting adventure to get him back. 

Starring a 16-year-old Nicole Kidman along with Logie winning Actors, John Howard and Mark Spain, Bush Christmas is an Australian classic. 

Bush Christmas airs Friday 14 December, 7.30pm.

Legendary puppeteer Jim Henson directs this tale of Emmet Otter and his Ma who are dirt-poor, but a close musical family.

But as Christmas approaches and a talent show offers a $50 prize, both of them want to get something special for each other. So, Ma gets a song ready, and Emmet forms a jug-band with his friends. 'Riverbottom Gang', a bunch of rich kids with killer electric band equipment, are going to be tough competition.

A middle-class African-American family reunites for Christmas for the first time in several years.

As with any family gathering, there are topics that are best not discussed. However, this family is ready to take on some challenging family time; warts and all, even if it is the holiday season.

With an All-Star cast such as Delroy Lindo, Idris Elba, Loretta Devine, Chris Brown and many more, This Christmas is a great movie to get you in the Christmas spirit; with the drama and comedy that comes with it.

This Christmas airs Saturday 22 December, 8.45pm on NITV (Ch. 34).
