Christmas Day can be a very stressful time and especially stressful if you're playing host to the most celebrated day of the year.

The pressure of trying to please the Christmas palate and meet expectations is enormous!

We thought we would share some dishes that are easy to make and will have everyone coming back for more.

The Entrée

To get the taste buds sizzling, why not go down to the beach and get the kids digging for pippies.

Cooking pippies or Birriga Birriga if you’re in Broome is quick and easy, and the best part is the kids have done all the work.

This is a personal favourite entrée dish from the Kriol Kitchen ladies.

Note: If you don’t have any turtle available use fresh barramundi or crocodile instead.

Forget the roast chicken and roast lamb why not try cooking a Larrakia-style Christmas lunch, featuring succulent ducks and braised kangaroo steaks.

Larrakia man, Robbie Mills, tells NITV the secret to these two beautiful dishes, created with his sovereign foods: magpie goose and kangaroo.

This recipe dresses up Magpie Goose with garlic, ginger and sauces ready for baking.

Robbie's braised kangaroo steaks are accompanied with tomatoes and his own version of a quick stir fry using asparagus and mushrooms.

The Side

It's not a Christmas lunch without the extra side dishes and in far Northern Queensland Sup.

Sup is a delicious staple that can accompany just about any main and even better it can be eaten hot or cold.

Helani Doolah shares her family Sup Sup recipe handed down from her grandmother.
