The new aircraft, entitled Mendoowoorrji or Medicine Project, is a part of the Qantas Indigenous Flying Art series, and is based on the work of deceased Indigenous Australian artist Paddy Bedford.
The media team inclusive of Ms Guivarra were briefed at the Boeing headquarters today in preparation for tomorrow’s ceremonial launch.
Boeing and Qantas say they are both committed to using businesses such as NITV from minority communities as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility Programs.
Supply Nation CEO, Charles Prouse was also in attendance.
Supply Nation is Australia’s leading business-to-business membership body dedicated to growing diversity within the supply chain.
Mr Prouse was already in the US to attend the annual National Minority Supplier Development Council meeting with 36 other Indigenous Australian businesses.
John and Ros Moriarty from the Balarinji Powerhouse team of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal artists are also in Seattle for tomorrow's launch.
The Moriarty family were instrumental in the setup of Supply Nation and have also worked with Qantas for 30 years.
Katherine Watson, Aunty Mona Ramsay and Aunty Shirley Purdie will all perform traditional dance tomorrow at Boeing's headquarters prior to the aircrafts unveiling.
NITV’s Nancia Guivarra was invited by Qantas to cover the event.
