Queensland 'fake nurse' fronts court

A man accused of posing as a nurse in a remote indigenous community has faced court on more than 100 new charges.

Nicholas Crawford, 30, is accused of using forged documents to gain employment at the Aurukun Primary Health Centre on Cape York  and posing as a nurse for six weeks earlier this year.

The Northern Territory man was charged with one count of fraud in April.

He had a further 50 counts of unlawful wounding, 45 counts of assault and 19 counts of unlawfully supplying dangerous drugs issued on Wednesday.

Crawford successfully applied for bail in Cairns Magistrate Court on Thursday.

He's due back in the same court in September.
