South Australian Police’s Superintendent Ian Parrott, officer in charge of South Coast Local Service Area, told media on Friday three children are with their 36-year-old father Dylan Lawson and “possibly” with their mother Ms Chantelle Lawson.

Ethan Lawson, 12, Jayden Lawson, 10, and Sienna Dodd, 6, were last seen at Bice Oval at Christies Beach in Adelaide's South where they were dropped off for football training on Wednesday night.

He says the police are concerned for the children’s welfare and want to ensure they are in alternative care.

“The only way we can resolve this is for them to come back and be placed into care,” he says.

He adds both parents are known to the police.

While there is no threat to their physical welfare, Superintendent Parrott says, “we really need to know if the kids are OK”.

“The police is putting in a large effort to locate them. At this time what we are asking for any public assistance for people to get in contact with police.”

Authorities commenced their search on Wednesday.

Anyone who sees them or knows their whereabouts is asked to call the police assistance line immediately on 131 444 or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
