The West Australian Premier has refused to step back from his controversial justification for closing some remote communities - that Aboriginal children are being sexually abused. The state government has announced it would begin consultations with remote communities in the Pilbara and the Kimberley to decide which ones were sustainable. Colin Barnett says issues of crime, employment and education will be taken into account - but evidence of sexual abuse is clear.
