Old material tells new stories: Yolngu filmmaker

A short drive from Nhulunbuy is the community of Yirrkala, which is home to about 700 Yolngu people. It also boasts a thriving art centre, which houses works from artists from right across North East Arnhem Land. The centre is also home to the Mulka Project, a community run initiative to protect and preserve thousands of photos, audio files and videos documenting the rich Yolngu culture. Ishmael Marika tells NITV News more.
