The Aboriginal Housing Company has taken the next step in its battle to secure access to The Block in Redfern. The Company's legal team appeared in the state’s Supreme Court today, seeking a deadline for Redfern Aboriginal Tent Embassy founder - Jenny Munro - to file her defence. Ms Munro - who has lived on the Block for more than 12 months - was given until July 7 to file a statement and avoid eviction. This is the first procedural step in a civil action to remove Embassy members from the Block on the grounds of trespass.
