It is a breakdown of order, a community in the grip of violence, and the police and state government accused of not doing enough to stop it. Aurukun in far north Queensland has been in the headlines after a school was shut down when the principal was allegedly assaulted with an axe. Video has also emerged of fights with police standing by. Cape York Indigenous leader Noel Pearson said he warned the Queensland government months ago about the crisis - he joins Stan Grant.
