Newcastle stopped today for a memorial service for one of the city's most prominent Aboriginal leaders. Uncle Jimmy Wright died last week at the age of 66. He had dedicated his life to advancing Aboriginal causes, served on numerous government advisory boards... and had been appointed as the first administrator of Awabakal Newcastle Aboriginal Co-op.
