Wiradjuri warrior and dedicated human rights activist Ray Jackson has died - aged 73. He had been hospitalised for pneumonia before peacefully passing away in his sleep on April 23rd. Uncle Ray was well-known as the president and founder of the Indigenous Social Justice Association, which fought hard to achieve equal rights for First Nations Peoples. He had long campaigned against Aboriginal Deaths in Custody, was involved in pushing for justice around the Bowraville murders and helped organise the Sydney protests against the forced closures of remote communities in WA.
