Dr Sazzad wants to serve Bangladesh better when he returns from Australia

Bangladeshi pediatric ophthalmologist Dr Quazi Sazzad Iftekhar has come to Australia for a three-months fellowship program. He is looking forward to applying new surgical and diagnostic techniques when he returns to Bangladesh this year.


Dr Quazi Sazzad Iftekhar is a pediatric ophthalmologist at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

A pediatric ophthalmologist since 2012, Dr Quazi is being supported by international development organisation The Fred Hollows Foundation as an International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) Fellow at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney.

As part of his three-months fellowship, Dr Quazi is observing best-practice ophthalmology at the hospital and is looking forward to applying new surgical and diagnostic techniques when he returns to Bangladesh this year.
