After Eid prayers, Hobart expatriates gathered together in a place for 'Morning Tea'. They all took part in the 'Eid Mela' on Eid Night. In this way, Bangladeshi migrants in Tasmania shared the Eid joy together from morning to night. SBS Bangla spoke with the community representative Asfaqur Rahman about their Eid preparations. About 300 Bangladeshis live in Hobart, but the Eid market is not like the ones in Sydney and Melbourne.
"Most of the Bangladeshis bring their Eid dress while coming from the home country," said Ashfaqur Rahman. While others shop online.
Bangladeshi expatriates organised an Iftar party at Hobart mosque on the occasion of Ramadan. People from different communities took part in this event.
