A round-table discussion on developing a locally-led migration strategy for the Orana region took place on 4 October 2019. Bangla-speaking community activist Shibli Chowdhury from Dubbo attended this program which was organised by Regional Development Australia (RDA), Orana NSW and the Regional Australia Institute.
Orana NSW has entered into a Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) with the Federal Government to facilitate sponsorship or skilled migration into the region and is looking to ensure that migration to Orana is well-planned and approached in a strategic way.
