The militant god-hater: Taslima Nasreen represents a new kind of fundamentalist atheism. Bangladeshi feminist author who was forced out of her country because of her controversial writings, Nasreen fled her adopted home of Kolkata after Muslims protested violently against "anti-Islamic" passages in her works. The rioting was brought to an end only when the army was deployed in the city – and the writer forced to flee.
