The United Nations is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. On June 26, 1945, 50 countries signed the UN Charter. Former German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is nominated to be President of the 80th General Assembly of the UN. Her nomination, however, also drew criticism.
