All eyes on Melbourne: The Australian Open have officially started

A record crowd of more than 100,000 fans packed into Melbourne Park on Sunday for Day one of the 2026 Australian Open main draw. World number three German Alexander Zverev faced a difficult opponent, but was able to prevail in the end after an initial hiccup. Sports journalist Christian Albrecht Barschel from Tennis Magazine in Hamburg talks us through this hard-fought win.
