All eyes on Melbourne: The Australian Open have officially started

A record crowd of more than 100,000 fans packed into Melbourne Park on Sunday for Day one of the 2026 Australian Open main draw. World number three German Alexander Zverev faced a difficult opponent right in the first round, but was able to prevail in the end after an initial hiccup. Sports journalist Christian Albrecht Barschel from Tennis Magazine in Hamburg talks us through the hard-fought win of last year's finalist.
