Cash still laughs for how long?

The well-known German saying: “Cash laughs” doesn't seem to be valid much longer. In Scandinavian countries, but also in Australia, payment cards are already so common that the Swedish central bank is now asking the country's citizens to use banknotes and coins from time to time when shopping just to remember what the country's official means of payment actually look like. Is cash really at an end?
