Disaster with announcement

The consequences of climate change and global warming have rarely been more obvious than a huge mountain slide this week in the picturesque canton of Valais in Switzerland. Down in the Lötschental, the village of Blatten was almost completely buried under a meter-high rubble heap. And as if that wasn't bad enough, the Lötsch itself, which flows through the valley, was dammed up by rocks and ice masses and the water flooded the rest of the village. An all-encompassing disaster!
