At his laboratory in Melbourne, biochemist Prof. David Komander is researching how cells keep order with the help of the tiny protein ubiquitin. A key protein in this process is the PINK1 enzyme. The team's work lays the foundation for future drugs against diseases such as cancer or Parkinson's disease.
