When you live in a country far, far away from home, anything that reminds you of the place you came from is celebrated. Well, in the case of Germans in Australia, this also applies to a supermarket discount chain with four big letters.


In June, Aldi opens its doors to West Australians, and especially the German-speaking community in the most isolated part of the country is excited beyond belief. Perth based journalist and proud Aldi loyalist Fran Rimrod explains the phenomenon.
