Trade unions play an important role in organizing the world of work and protect workers from attacks and injustices by employers. IG Metall in Germany is the largest trade union in the world. It is now led by a woman for the first time. Christiane Benner is her name. Born in Aachen, she is in Sydney with a delegation and is taking part in a global trade union congress.
