Good intentions can sometimes turn into their embarrassing opposite. A few weeks ago, the University of Cologne planned to return three skulls from Australian natives. After much searching, the descendants were identified and a solemn meeting was scheduled in Cologne. But just before the objects were handed over, the unbelievable happened. One of the skulls had disappeared, presumably stolen.
