If you stand on a carpet, and the ground gives way, a person ends up hanging somewhere between earth and heaven. Dona Abboud is Syrian. Her family still lives in Damascus. She moved to Germany in 2008 to study graphic design and typography. She still lives in Leipzig, and used her artistic skills to publish a photo book in 3 languages, which allows us to experience the everyday life in Syria via Facebook photos. During her visit at the SBS studios, she told us about her personal experiences with the war and her work with Syrian refugees in Germany. She is currently a guest of the Goethe Institute and a participant in the series of events called Damascus in Exile.
