There is currently a mass death of marine animals on the south coast of Australia. The reason is an algae that is widely spreading there. Those affected — including many oyster farmers and fishermen — are bewildered. How did this environmental disaster come about? Marine biologist Dr. Olaf Meynecke warns this could happen even more often in the future.
