Patrick Faizy fulfilled his Australian dream on the Central Coast in New South Wales. With his food truck business “German Grillhaus”, the Berliner brings German classics such as Currywurst to major events and local festivals throughout the region. But his life Down Under doesn't just consist of Austrian engineered high-tech food trucks: Together with his family, he lives surrounded by nature on an acreage — and, in addition to his business, has also discovered beekeepers for himself.

Patrick Faizy lives on the Central Coast in NSW a life that many dream of: a self-determined life between entrepreneurship, nature and family. Born in Berlin, he came to Australia 17 years ago — without a clear plan, but with an open mind for new things. His first part-time jobs led to his “German Grillhaus” food truck business. Today, he serves German food classics at major events such as concerts in Sydney Olympic Park as well as at local festivals. From bratwurst to sauerkraut and now also his own curry sausage sauce — “the German standard has been preserved,” he says with a smile.

I want to fully enjoy this moment in this here and now, no matter what it is.

But his journey wasn't a straight one. From the apartment in Drummoyne, the family later moved to western Sydney before moving on to the Central Coast. Here, on a large plot of land surrounded by greenery, Patrick found his Australian dream and, above all, space for new ideas.

Mit seinem Foodtruck „German Grillhaus“ bringt Patrick Faizy deutsche Klassiker wie Currywurst auf die Straßen von NSW – unterwegs bei Großevents und lokalen Festen in der ganzen Region.

In addition to the food truck, Patrick is involved in his community with the rural fire service and has discovered beekeeping for himself. Working with bees has changed him: “You learn that nothing can be planned. They do what they want — and you only have an idea.” But above all, they give him peace of mind.

He deliberately chose the catering model — for him, it was not just about business, but also about flexibility and quality of life. “I want to fully enjoy this moment in this here and now,” he says. For him, success doesn't just mean turnover, but encounter: “It's not so much about sales — it's about human contact. “
