Referendum in Italy fails due to low voter turnout: Is the democracy in danger?

While people in LA are protesting against US President Donald Trump's controversial migration policy, a referendum in Italy to ease migration laws failed due to low voter turnout. The result is a success for far-right Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who had called on the population to boycott the vote.
