An entire country gets a new history — decreed from above. The Indonesian government is planning an official historiography that, according to critics, is reminiscent of authoritarian times and could hide uncomfortable truths. Barbara Barkhausen has taken a closer look at the controversy that is currently brewing among our neighbors.
