The Tour de France draws thousands of passionate fans each year — among them Teresa, a German high-school graduate who travelled with her father to experience the race up close. But the festive atmosphere along the route quickly turned into a moment of shock, one in which French SBS colleague Christophe Malet played a pivotal role. The incident has created a connection between the two that led to a coffee catch up in Melbourne. In our conversation, Teresa reflects on how swiftly joy gave way to fear that day.
