Growing up in Papua New Guinea, Thorsten Krause developed a deep passion for diving after initial diving experiences in a German quarry lake. This led to a career in the diving industry, which took him from the tropics to the cold waters of New Zealand. In conversation, he talks about his personal diving journey, the challenges of entering the industry, coral restoration projects and unforgettable moments such as the Sardine Run in South Africa — surrounded by sharks.
